In 2009, the total value of import and export nationwide amounted to
USD2.2073t, down 13.9% year-on-year. Among them, export reached
USD1.2017t, down 16%; import USD1.0056t, down 11.2%. The trade surplus
stood at USD196.1b, down 34.2% from the same period last year.
Export growth in December became positive with import on the rise.
On that month, the total import and export nationwide was USD243b, up
32.7% year-on-year, up 22.9 percentage points from the previous month.
Among them, total export was USD130.7b, up 17.7% from down 1.2% in the
previous month year-on-year; and import USD112.3b, up 55.9%.
