According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, from January to December 2009, foreign-invested enterprises newly approved for establishment reached total number of 23435, a decreased 14.83% as compared with that of the same period last year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached USD 90.033b, a decreased 2.56% as compared with that of the same period last year.

According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, in December 2009, foreign-invested enterprises newly approved for establishment reached total number of 2835, a increase 10.66% as compared with that of the same period last year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached USD12.138b, a increase 103.06% as compared with that of the same period last year.

From January to December this year, the top ten nations and regions with investment in China (as per the actual input of foreign capital) are as follows: Hong Kong (USD53.993b), Taiwan Province(USD6.563b), Japan(USD4.117b), Singapore (USD3.886b), U.S.A.(USD3.576b), R.O.K.(USD2.703b), U.K.(USD1.469b), Germany(USD1.227b), Macau(USD1000m) and Canada(USD959m) , total of which accounted for 88.3% of total actual use of foreign investment in the country.
