China's Social Logistics Value Grew 6% in 2009

China's "social logistics" logistical efforts in support of stimulus spending, disaster relief and other non-profit projects cost 6% more in 2009, while for-profit logistics increased 8% in value.

The country's logistics value experienced a high then low manner which coupled with falling 3.3% in first quarter and 0.8% in second quarter, then growing two per cent in third quarter and 15% in fourth quarter. Among the comprising elements, logistics value deriving for imports dropped 13% while that from industrial goods increased 8%.

China's logistics business of automobiles, home appliances and electronic products underwent a fast growth due to its stimulus packages for domestic consumption, as well as logistics demands for infrastructure construction and restoration building after Sichuan earthquake. But growth of logistics value in eastern China's coastal area slowed owing to the greater impact of foreign trade demand.
